THE “MADE BY ITALIANS” AT EMO HANNOVER 2023

ollowing the success of EMO MILANO 2021, approximately 200 Italian companies participated in EMO HANNOVER 2023, the world fair dedicated to metalworking machine tools, which held in Germany again. The Italian group of participants was the second largest group in Hannover. Foreign collective Italian participating companies will showcase the best of the industry’s “Made in Italy” products, representing all main production segments. The Italian machine tool manufacturing industry, with 400 enterprises and 35,000 employees, plays an important role in the international scenario of the sector, where it ranks fourth in the ranking of production, exports and consumption.

According to the final data processed by the UCIMU Department of Economic Studies and the Center for Business Culture, in 2022 Italy’s production of machine tools, robots and automation systems reached new records for almost all main indicators: production reached over 7.3 billion euros (+ 15%), consumption increased to 6.3 billion euros (+26%) and exports to 3.5 billion (+8.5%).

The positive trend is expected to continue in 2023: Italian production of the sector will reach 7.8 billion euros (+6.5%), consumption will reach 6.8 billion euros (+8.3%) and exports will reach 3.6 billion euros (+3%). 7) is expected to arrive.

Foreign markets will direct the business of Italian companies in the near future. For this reason, the trade fair supported by CECIMO, the European Machine Tool Industries Association, is unique in the panorama of trade fairs and represents an unmissable opportunity for manufacturers who are aware of the potential of this event that can attract the attention of operators.

UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE President Barbara Colombo said: “Participating in the world fair EMO held in Europe, the cradle and heart of the manufacturing industry, is much more important today than in the past. Because the reorganization and shortening of value chains due to the geopolitical instability we are experiencing clearly makes the markets in the Region more interesting and rich in opportunities. These markets, such as Germany, France, Poland and Turkey, has certainly well represented among visitors. “Taking part in EMO means being able to meet users from these countries as well as users from the USA and Asia,” he said. In order to make the most of the event carried out independently by the participating companies, UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE did, as usual, take care of the promotion of “Made by Italians” at EMO Hannover. Visual communication, advertising, articles in trade press publications, and advertising posters are some of the planned initiatives.
