Borçelik R&D Test Center, having received TS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from TÜRKAK (Turkish Accreditation Agency), offers reliability in testing and analysis services according to international standards, and has opened its accredited services to external customers.
Borçelik's R&D Test Center, a Borusan Group company, has been accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) under the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. Registered with accreditation number AB-2215-T, the center has begun offering its testing and analysis capabilities to external customers.

With this accreditation, Borçelik R&D Test Center has gone beyond being merely an internal laboratory serving the company's production processes, becoming an accredited testing center whose technical competence, impartiality, and reliability of results have been independently audited. The center; It offers accredited services in four different areas: tensile testing and Vickers hardness testing on metallic and welded materials, coating thickness measurement on metallic materials using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and salt spray corrosion testing on coated or painted materials.

The TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, internationally recognized for the competence, impartiality, and consistent working ability of testing and calibration laboratories, constitutes an important reference in terms of the technical validity and reliability of the test results produced by the laboratories. Within the framework of the multilateral recognition agreements signed by TÜRKAK with the European Accreditation Association (EA) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Association (ILAC), the test results within the scope of accreditation also support international acceptance processes. Accredited services in four different testing areas
The accreditation scope of Borçelik R&D Test Center includes tensile testing and Vickers hardness testing in metallic and welded materials, coating thickness measurement in metallic materials using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and salt spray corrosion testing in coated or painted materials. Tensile tests in accordance with TS EN ISO 6892-1 standard determine the mechanical strength, yield and tensile limits, and elongation properties of steel and other metallic materials at room temperature. Vickers hardness tests within the scope of TS EN ISO 6507-1 standard precisely measure the surface and internal structure hardness of materials. SEM analyses in accordance with ASTM B748 standard examine the thickness of metallic coatings with sub-micron accuracy over the material cross-section, while salt spray tests in accordance with ASTM B117-19 standard evaluate the corrosion resistance of coated and painted materials under accelerated aging conditions.
