Türkiye's energy transition relies not only on the construction of new power plants but also on the proper planning of these investments and the seamless management of all permitting processes. Bringing a wind or solar energy investment to fruition requires the harmonious coordination of dozens of technical stages—ranging from urban planning and mapping to environmental assessments, land expropriation, forestry permits, and zoning procedures.
According to data from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), there are 348 wind power plants in Türkiye holding generation licenses; ARI-ES Enerji has played a role in 124 of them. Including projects at the pre-license stage, the company’s wind energy portfolio has reached 162 projects, establishing significant engineering and project development expertise in this sector. The company has participated in 37 solar energy projects (both licensed and pre-licensed) and worked on 19 hybrid solar projects integrated into existing wind licenses. When combining the 218 licensed and pre-licensed projects recorded by EMRA with unlicensed generation, project development, and investments in other energy sources, the company’s total portfolio reaches 352 projects and a capacity of 16,211.29 MW.
INVESTMENT SUCCESS BEGINS AT THE PLANNING TABLE, NOT JUST IN THE FIELD
In renewable energy investments, the process begins at the project development stage—specifically with site selection—and the steps taken during this phase are among the most critical determinants of the investment's success. Obtaining institutional opinions, preparing zoning plans, generating base maps, conducting EIA and ESIA processes, and completing expropriation procedures, road projects, and forestry permits are of great importance for the timely commencement of the investment.
Based in İzmir, ARI-ES Energy brings together the disciplines of urban planning, geomatics (surveying) engineering, environmental engineering, and forestry engineering under one roof—specifically through its ARI-ES Planning, HNS Surveying, and Forestry units—supported by a team of approximately 40 experts; the company holds professional competency certificates and office registrations for each of these disciplines. The company supports investments from the project development stage onwards, providing services for projects ranging from those with pre-licenses or generation licenses to unlicensed projects. It manages all stages of an investment—from project development to the commencement of construction—in-house, with the exception of geological and geotechnical surveys. These stages encompass everything from obtaining institutional approvals and preparing zoning plans to producing base maps, designing road projects, handling property acquisition and expropriation, securing preliminary and final forestry permits, and managing EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) and ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment) processes. Additionally, through its proprietary project tracking system, the company monitors the permit and licensing schedules of every investment in real-time, ensuring centralized coordination of the processes.

NEARLY 30 YEARS OF ENGINEERING EXPERTISE
With roots dating back to 1998, ARI-ES Energy shifted its focus to the renewable energy sector in 2004; it was restructured in 2005 to concentrate specifically on this field and has operated exclusively within the renewable energy sector ever since. Today, the company integrates urban planning, geomatics engineering, environmental engineering, and forestry engineering disciplines within a single structure, providing services for licensed and pre-licensed wind and solar energy projects, as well as for hybrid, unlicensed, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass investments.
