Tüpraş, Turkey’s leading energy company, continues its investments without pause as part of the transformation journey across its entire value chain, driven by its "Our Energy for the Future" vision. With new ships scheduled for delivery in 2029, the company aims to increase its crude oil transport capacity while simultaneously strengthening supply security and logistics flexibility.
Operating to meet Turkey’s energy needs without interruption, Tüpraş will significantly boost its crude oil transport capacity with four new Suezmax-class vessels to be built in South Korea. These four ships—representing a total investment exceeding $370 million and each boasting a carrying capacity of approximately 157,000 DWT—are slated for delivery in 2029.
Ditaş, Tüpraş’s subsidiary specializing in maritime transport and logistics, had previously become the company with the largest Turkish-flagged tanker fleet—marking the centennial of both Turkish Cabotage and the Koç Group—following the recent delivery of the *T. Riva* tanker. By adding these new vessels to its fleet, Tüpraş aims to increase its oil transport capacity while further enhancing its competitiveness in both national and international maritime transport.
With a total annual crude oil processing capacity of 30 million tons across its four refineries in İzmit, İzmir, Kırıkkale, and Batman, Tüpraş ranks as Europe’s seventh-largest refining company and operates some of the most complex refineries in the Mediterranean basin. As of 2025, the company sources 31 different types of crude oil from 16 countries—including Türkiye—and exports to various regions across the globe, particularly Europe and Africa.
