Borusan Boru has won an award for its SparkAI project, an AI-powered accident prediction system, as a reflection of its successful approach to occupational health and safety. Utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, SparkAI predicts potential workplace accidents, enabling early detection of potential risks. Developed by Borusan Boru employees, the project analyzes numerous variables including working hours, shift intensity, production volume, maintenance and breakdown deviations, near-miss history, employee experience, product variety, and social factors. This allows for the early identification of increased risks, safer assignments in critical tasks, and data-driven support for managerial decision-making processes.

SparkAI moves occupational health and safety management away from a classical and reactive approach, towards a data-driven and predictive structure. Developed in line with Borusan Holding’s I3 (People, Innovation, Climate) sustainability strategy, the project contributes to a safer and healthier working environment with a human-centered approach, while presenting a unique solution based on artificial intelligence and machine learning in the innovation dimension. It also supports operational efficiency and contributes to the optimization of resource utilization. Thanks to its scalable structure, the SparkAI project stands out as a digital safety solution that can be adapted to different factory and company dynamics across the Borusan Group. In this respect, the project offers a sustainable and scalable innovation model that exemplifies data-driven transformation in the field of occupational health and safety.

In line with its “Zero Accident” goal, Borusan Boru continuously improves its occupational health and safety policies, strengthening its safe working culture with technology-supported applications and comprehensive improvement programs. The company considers the safety of its employees one of its most fundamental priorities, and with its equitable practices and sustainability-focused approach, it offers an exemplary transformation model in the industry.
