Borusan Group, one of Turkey’s well-established industrial groups, has made a significant senior appointment, effective April 2026. Erkan Kafadar, who has served as Borusan Group CEO since January 2020, will hand over his position to Özgür Günaydın.
A strategic leadership change is underway at Borusan Group. Having assumed the role of CEO since January 2020, Erkan Kafadar will hand over his position to Özgür Günaydın, currently the Chairman of the Borusan Cat Executive Board, effective April 2026. Kafadar has successfully led the Group during a period of numerous global and regional challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic, geopolitical tensions, earthquakes, and economic crises, leading Borusan Group to achieve significant progress in its financial and non-financial indicators. Kafadar will continue to contribute to the Group as an Executive Member of the Borusan Holding Board of Directors and as a Member of the Board of Directors of Borusan Group Companies.
The New CEO is an Experienced Member of the Group
Özgür Günaydın, appointed as Borusan Group’s new CEO, began his career as a Service Engineer at Borusan Machinery and Power Systems in 1995 after graduating from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at METU. Having served as a global leader across various geographies throughout his career spanning over 30 years, Günaydın has played a leading role in shaping Borusan Cat’s digital transformation vision and establishing agile, resilient, and sustainable organizational structures. Günaydın had served as Borusan Cat’s Chief Executive Officer since January 2017.
