Continuing its support for education, Çolakoğlu Metallurgy, under the auspices of the Kocaeli Governorship and in cooperation with the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education, concluded the "Traditional Inter-Middle School Knowledge and Culture Competition" with a grand final held at the Kocaeli Congress Center.
This year's event, a tradition held as part of the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day celebrations, saw significantly higher participation than previous years, with approximately 200 schools from Kocaeli's 12 districts taking part. The competition, with its high participation of students from across Kocaeli, transformed into a meaningful gathering where knowledge, excitement, and competition were intertwined.
In the competition, where 12 schools that came first in their districts advanced to the final, students fiercely competed in Turkish, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and General Knowledge. Throughout the final program, the students' performances created great excitement in the hall and provided moments of pride for the audience.
The program was attended by Kocaeli Provincial Director of National Education Emrullah Aydın, members of the Kocaeli provincial protocol, Çolakoğlu Metallurgy executives, representatives from the education community, and numerous guests.
In his speech, Kocaeli Provincial Director of National Education Emrullah Aydın thanked Çolakoğlu Metallurgy for their contribution to education, stating that the competition and inter-institutional cooperation added significant value to the education ecosystem. Emphasizing that such organizations contribute not only to the academic development of students but also to their social and cultural development, Aydın thanked all the teachers and administrators involved and congratulated the participating students.
Çolakoğlu Metallurgy Corporate Communications Manager Seda Demirel Yıldırım, in her speech, stated that throughout its more than eighty-year history, Çolakoğlu Metallurgy has considered contributing to education, youth, and social development as an important part of its corporate responsibility, not only in the industrial and economic fields. Stating that they believe investment in education is the most valuable investment in the future, Yıldırım expressed their pleasure in continuing such organizations that contribute to the development of young people.
The final program included a performance by the Kartepe Turkish-French Brotherhood Middle School Mehteran Band, adding a special touch of excitement to the event.
At the end of the competition, Çayırova Private Güneş Middle School came first, Derince Fatih Middle School came second, and Darıca Deniz Yıldızları Middle School came third. The successful students received great acclaim for their performances.
As part of Çolakoğlu Metallurgy's corporate social heritage approach, the top three students and schools received prizes such as laptops, tablets, printers, and bicycles from Çolakoğlu Metallurgy.
