Strategic Investment from FANUC in Turkish Industry

FANUC, one of the few companies that develops and manufactures every major component for hardware and software in-house, has taken another major step in its 32-year history in Turkey. The official opening of FANUC Turkey’s new Technology Center was held with the participation of FANUC Global President & CEO Kenji Yamaguchi and FANUC Europe President & CEO Marco Ghirardello.

Japan-based CNC, robot, and machine manufacturer FANUC has advanced the innovations it has introduced to factory automation in Turkey since 1993 with its new Technology Center, which will operate in a 10,300-square-meter area in Sancaktepe. The FANUC Turkey Technology Center, the latest step in FANUC’s investments in Turkey, began operations with a ceremony. The opening ceremony was attended by FANUC Global President & CEO Kenji Yamaguchi, FANUC Europe President & CEO Marco Ghirardello, FANUC Turkey General Manager Teoman Alper Yiğit, industry stakeholders, business partners, and numerous guests.

The event brought together senior executives, decision-makers, and industry representatives from major companies operating in various sectors, including manufacturing, automotive, defense, white goods, molding, plastics, machinery, and electronics, both in Turkey and globally. Attendees had the opportunity to examine FANUC’s latest robotics, CNC, and automation solutions on-site and experience them through live demonstrations.

“We are investing in the future of Turkish industry”

In his opening remarks, Teoman Alper Yiğit, General Manager of FANUC Turkey & CIS Countries, emphasized that the center will not only be a product display area but also a knowledge and experience center that will contribute to the future of industry. Teoman Alper Yiğit said, “The FANUC Turkey Technology Center brings together the knowledge, technology, and application support domestic manufacturers need in their digital transformation processes. This new investment is not just a building opening for us; it’s also a new step in the vision we’ve been developing together with our country for 32 years. We’re positioning this building as a center for developing solutions. We’re also creating a common meeting point where we can share knowledge, experience, and vision. We believe in Turkey’s production power and engineering capabilities; this center will be a meeting point where we, together with our business partners, implement innovation in the field. With the new Technology Center, we aim to create added value for Turkish industry in the short term.”

“Turkey is a strategic hub for regional production”

FANUC Global President & CEO Kenji Yamaguchi also emphasized the importance of Turkey in FANUC’s global vision in his speech: “At FANUC, we are working to increase production efficiency and quality around the world. With its strong industrial foundation, strategic location, and young workforce, Turkey is a crucial hub for regional production. With this new technology center, we will support Turkey’s production potential by working more closely with our customers.”

“We will be closer to our customers”

FANUC Europe President & CEO Marco Ghirardello emphasized the center’s importance within its European structure, saying, “Turkey holds a crucial place in FANUC’s growth strategy in Europe. This new center will allow us to be closer to both our existing customers and new business partners. Here, we will offer a distinctive customer experience by experiencing our sustainable production and advanced technology solutions firsthand.”

A center for innovation, training, and collaboration

The new FANUC Turkey Technology Center will serve as both a space for hands-on training on industrial robots, CNC control systems, and machine solutions, and an innovation center for testing systems developed in collaboration with business partners. The center also features the FIELD (FANUC Intelligent Edge Link and Drive) platform, Zero Down Time (ZDT) monitoring technology, and smart manufacturing solutions. Visitors had the opportunity to closely examine the robotic automation cells, simulation-supported production systems, and productivity-enhancing applications exhibited at the center.

“The future of automation is taking shape in Turkey”

The opening of FANUC’s new center aims to support developments focused on efficiency, quality, sustainability, and innovation in production, in line with Turkey’s vision of digital transformation in industry. The event concluded with a center tour and technology demonstrations following the opening. Attendees had the opportunity to experience the advanced manufacturing technologies offered by FANUC’s new center in Turkey.
