EMO Hannover 2025, the world’s leading production technologies fair, offers innovations, discussions and networking opportunities for Turkish production experts. 47 companies from Turkey have already taken their places for the historical meeting to be held in Germany between 22 - 26 September.
Organized with the motto “Innovative Production”, EMO Hanover 2025 represents innovation, internationalization, inspiration and the future of metal processing. EMO Hannover, the world’s leading production technology fair, stands out as the only event that presents the entire added value chain for metal processing; It includes a wide range of products, from machine tools, production systems, additive manufacturing processes, precision tools and automation to measurement technology, quality assurance, software and accessories. The target audience of the fair includes; mechanical engineering, automotive industry, aerospace engineering, metalworking and metalworking, medical technology, energy suppliers, as well as the electronics industry and many other industries.
Executive Director of the German Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (VDW), the organizer of EMO, Dr. In his statement at the EMO presentation held in Istanbul on May 26, 2025, Markus Heering said, “EMO, a business and discussion platform between all international players, manufacturers and users in the industry, is a unique event in the world.” In 2023, more than 1,800 exhibitors from 45 countries and 92 thousand trade visitors from approximately 140 countries visited EMO. Approximately 3 thousand 300 visitors from Turkey attended the fair.
Türkiye was widely represented at EMO
Last year, with a machine tool production of approximately 1.05 billion Euros, Türkiye ranked 11th and was among the world’s largest manufacturers in this field. The most important customer groups for Turkish manufacturers include the automotive industry and mechanical engineering. These areas, among the largest customer groups in the metalworking industry, strongly represent the visitor groups at EMO.
Turkey will once again be strongly represented at EMO 2025, with a large participant group of 47 companies registered, including Karmetal, Tezmaksan Robot and Kes-Tech, as well as well-known manufacturers such as Mega Elektronik, Beka-Mak, Van CNC and Karcan. Among the important product groups that Turkish companies will bring with them are; In addition to modern machine systems, robotics and automation solutions for metal processing, there are software for monitoring machine performance in real time or entire production processes.
In addition to establishing contact with traditional markets, EMO also offers the opportunity to develop new business relationships. EMO, attended by professional visitors from all over the world, provides the opportunity to reach a wide audience, each of which can be a potential customer.
As a result of the depreciation of the Turkish Lira, Turkey’s machine tool imports, which were approximately 2.0 billion Euros in 2023, decreased to approximately 1.6 billion Euros last year. “German machine tool manufacturers are among the most important business partners of Turkish decision-makers in the metalworking sector,” said VDW Managing Director Heering. Heering continued: “However, visitors will be able to visit EMO with its newest worldwide “They also come to learn about machine tools, solutions and services, meet new suppliers and potential customers, and potentially start new supplier relationships.”
EMO focuses on global megatrends
Similar challenges can be seen everywhere: Competition is increasing, while investors are adopting a “wait and see” approach. As costs rise, the demand for sustainable products is also growing rapidly. The integration of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and additive manufacturing requires constant, advanced training. In addition, the lack of qualified personnel stands out as a factor that makes progress difficult in many regions.
Within the scope of EMO 2025, approximately 1,300 participants from 35 countries will present solutions to these challenges. Experts will discuss megatrends such as automation, digitalization, including artificial intelligence, and sustainability, and the impact of these trends on developments in the field of metal processing will be evaluated.
Automation for greater efficiency in the Turkish metalworking industry
In addition to high raw material and preliminary preparation costs, the migration of skilled labor abroad is accelerating the trend towards automation in Turkish industry. While automation solutions increase efficiency and quality in the production process, they also stand out as one of the most important driving forces in terms of investments. Many EMO participants from Turkey offer solutions in this field in different ways. Automation; From simple solutions such as pallet changers and transport systems; It covers a wide range from the use of robots to autonomous factories with driverless systems.
Visitors to EMO 2025 will encounter a wide range of automation solutions, as many exhibitors continue to improve their machines with these solutions. The Cobot Area joint stand, an important center in this field, will focus even more closely on automation. Here, collaborative robots will be featured along with their potential uses and applications. Among the solutions to be exhibited; grippers, computer vision, measurement systems, software, industrial electronics, feeding systems and much more.
Sustainability for greater climate protection
Türkiye, which is among the countries seriously affected by climate change according to the OECD comparison, has made commitments on climate protection and promised to achieve climate neutrality by 2053. However, Türkiye, still dependent on fossil fuels, faces the challenge of realizing this claim. In order to prevent this, it is necessary to focus on less energy and material consumption in production and to implement the recycling economy. Explaining his experiences on the subject, Markus Heering says, “Many individual measures achieve the desired goal in this regard. Investments in new machines provide energy savings of around 25 percent, for example.” Thus, the carbon footprint is reduced. Modern electric motors and innovative drive technology save significant amounts of electricity compared to previous generations. Other determining factors include advanced control technology, optimized design of compressed air and hydraulic applications or suma and management systems.
The Sustainability Zone at EMO 2025 will be the ideal meeting point to experience cutting-edge solutions for sustainable production in the future. Here, participants will provide information about trends in energy efficiency, integration of regenerative energies, recycling and life cycle concepts. The event will not only promote climate protection, but also focus on reducing production costs when energy and raw materials are scarce.
TDigitalization and artificial intelligence come together for higher efficiency
Digitalization and networking have long been among the topics of production. Artificial intelligence has now come into play to accelerate data analysis, achieve higher efficiency and develop new business models. The semiconductor industry plays a key role in the development and use of digital technologies. By leveraging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors enable users to design production processes more intelligently. This creates transparency by increasing the efficiency of production processes and enables real-time monitoring and control of machines and processes, as well as enabling predictive maintenance.
During EMO 2025, the Artificial Intelligence + Digitalization Zone will present the latest networking methods integrated with artificial intelligence to investors from industry and management. This will also create an opportunity for manufacturers in Turkey to showcase their expertise in this field.
